Chuck E. Cheese

Dad's been feeling guilty about having to spend so much time away from his kiddos, so today he decided to do something special... take Grady to Chuck E. Cheese!

For two hours Grady had fun riding rides, playing games, talking on the phone (game), whacking moles (Hammerhead), eatting pizza, drinking some orange soda and just having a heck of a time.
We started off with a little bus ride - watch your head Grady!

Here are a few more shots of the little man having a good time taking the bus for a drive!

After we rode the bus for a while, Grady decided a ride in a convertible sounded like fun! We also learned very quickly how to put our own tokens into the machine... watch here!

Shortly after our drive with the top down, it was show time! Although, Grady didn't seem nearly as interested in mechanical rats talking...

After chasing him down and explaining we can't run away and be on our own, it was back to having fun and playing!

Next up was Bob the Builder ride, although he didn't seem to enjoy this one as much as the bus or car, but still rode it a couple of times!

One quick picture of us riding the Bob the Builder truck!

After Bob the Builder it was time to try Hammerhead - a "whack the mole" type game. He really enjoyed this one - I haven't seen him this excited in AGES!

I think the picture says it all, but to get the real feeling of being there, watch these two videos. The first one is his first try... the second video is about 5-6 tries later after he got a better idea of what to do - he's such a hoot!!! :)

By now Dad was getting quite hungry, but Grady had no interest in taking a break for food... so I let him loose in the convertible for a bit while I ordered food - don't worry, it was about 10 feet away and aways clearly in viewing distance... and there were only about 5 kids in the entire place, so quite quiet!

After ordering, Grady saw I brought back a few drinks, so he decided to stop by for a few minutes for a quick taste - but not long, just enough to guzzle down a few gulps!

Back to playing! Next, we found ourselves a phone to entertain us! Now, to me, this is the most worthless game in the place - you put the coin in, press the keypad to dial a few digits, then you "call" someone, the doctor, your school, grandma, etc, etc. They say a few things over the handset, Grady talks to them for a bit, then its over in about 30 seconds.
But Grady, well, he loved this thing. In fact, while I sat and ate pizza he just talked on the thing (without coins) - I couldn't get him away from it! Crazy kid!

By now the pizza was getting cold and it was getting late... it took a lot of effort and convincing, but he came over and had one slice of pizza and some soda before he ran back out to play for another 20 minutes.

After our brief lunch it was time to get back out there and have some fun. Daddy was able to convince Grady for a air hockey match! I don't think he quite got the concepts, but it was a lot of fun nonetheless... I won 7-0, but think I only scored one point myself. hehe :)

We were now nearing the end of our visit... only a few coins left and it was quickly approaching 1pm - been there for almost 2 1/2 hours and way overdue for a nap. However, in the last few moments we made a friend and went for a few rides on the bus together taking turns driving!

After one or two more games, we were out of coins, and it was time to head home. Now, you couldn't convince Grady the fun was over... but we managed to walk out, holding hands, off to the car.
Not too long after heading home and singing a few songs, Grady was sacked out in the back. All tuckered out from our great adventure!

Thanks for the fun Grady - looking forward to doing it with you, Colin, and Mommy again in the near future! :)
