Beets! Yummy Beets!

Grady's usual food choices include the following: oat and rice cereals, bananas, apples, pears, apricots, nectarines, peaches, carrots, butternut and acorn squashes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, avocados, and the occasional few mouthfuls (but no more than that) of peas and green beans. Excellent choices and variety in the tan/yellow/orange food groups. Lacking a bit in other colors. A friend at work suggested we try beets. I thought...ewww, beets. Blech. Grady, however, had other thoughts. And for the record, beet puree and rice cereal looks remarkably like raspberry sherbet.

Packing!

Grady decided to help Mommy pack for their upcoming trip to Washington. He's learning the importance of a good list early on in life. Also in his skill repertoire is the ability to completely tear apart organized piles of clothing in less time than it takes to run downstairs and get a quart ziploc bag for toiletries.

Backed into a corner

Here's what Mommy found when she went in to get Grady up from his nap today. We think he's using the slats of the crib for leverage to help himself get upright. We've only seen him get up from his belly on his own once out of the crib. Seems easier for him to do while in the crib.

A lovey of his own (finally) and the elusive teeth

Mommy finally finished Grady's bunny lovey. Also, if you look closely, you can see his two bottom teeth...they're hard to catch on film. ;)

Funny faces

I am not a morning person.

Camera-mesmerized.

Gimme the bright light!

But I don't WANNA go to bed yet!

I'm not tired, Mommy. Really. I can stay up later.

Teeeeeeee!!!

Grady's becoming more and more interested in the dogs and cats, particularly our greyhound, T. Luckily for us, T is fantastic with Grady. So very patient and kind. Grady loves to pat T and hug him...(and try to steal his ID tags). We supervise them closely, but so far T has been a peach with Grady and seems to enjoy the love and attention. It probably also helps that his fur is too short to really pull (sorry again Fat Zippy).

Two buddies hanging out on the floor.

Trying to kiss T's back...and not really succeeding.

Playing "follow the leader"!

Giving a gentle hug with Daddy's help.

Open-handed patting and snuggling. Good boy, T!

OK. Like you all knew this wasn't coming eventually....
(no dogs were harmed in the taking of these photos)

Beating the heat (and teething, too!)

It has been toasty here, and someone's working on his two top teeth.
So, we tried a frozen banana. I'd say the results are....mixed.

OK. My bad. I keep forgetting that if I film something sideways, it stays sideways. So, my apologies. Maybe his cuteness will make up for it. ;)

Showing off for the camera

Well, as you have seen from the previous post, Mr. Grady has learned to sit up on his own.

Here's a video from a few minutes later. At first he's shy for the camera and doesn't want to perform... but after some help from Daddy, he can't stop showing how he can lean all the way forward and sit up again!

Just a day ago, he couldn't even do this yet. Grady goes to sleep a normal child and wakes up SUPER BABY!!! :)

Guess what?

I walked into his room this morning after he took a short nap and this is what I found!

Be sure to watch the video too! :)

And here's the video... he's so proud of himeself!

YAY GRADY!!! :)
